Avoiding Implantitis

Signs of Implants

Signs include:

Discharge. There may be a watery discharge around the site of the implant. It doesn’t necessarily mean implantitis, but should be looked at. If it is dark and thick it likely does mean implantitis.
Redness. The tissue around the implant site may become red.
Inflammation. Oridinarilly you should be unaware of the dental implant, in the sense of physical sensation. Inflammation is not usually described as painful, but if the implant site becomes inflamed you may notice it when eating.
